The Mythology Class

The Mythology Class Graphic Novel by Arnold ArreThe Mythology Class centers on University of the Philippines anthropology student Nicole Lacson, a girl who holds a passionate love for Filipino myths passed down from her grandfather. Together with a motley assortment of companions, she meets the mysterious Mrs. Enkanta and races to recapture the escaped enkantos (or supernatural creatures) in the human world. The story also invokes historical and mythological Filipino heroes like Kubin, Sulayman and Lam-ang.

Originally published by the author in four issues in 1999, the series won a Manila Critics Circle National Book Award on September 11, 2000. It was collected into a special edition by Anino Books in September 2005.

    It’s sold out. I’ve been looking for a couple of copies myself. I gave my previous copies to friend as gifts…
